The local area is steeped in history and there are many, many interesting places to visit (eg Toulouse, Pau, Lourdes, Carcasonne, Spain, The Pyranees and many more.). The immediate surrounding countryside is breathtaking, not to speak of the Pyrenees within a 45 minute drive. There are gardens that can be visited, aquariums as well as leisure parks for children.
